RANDOM BLIZZARD PICS, short on text. I did quite a bit of snow shoveling yesterday and much more remains to be done today.
A treetop came down off one of the Holmberg’s Norway Spruces. It was so laden with ice and snow it must have weighed more than a ton. And it fell in the perfect spot, missed the car, the fence and the mailbox.
Closer view, if a bit deceptive. Quite a lot of the treetop is under the snow. I was surprised at how much of a brush pile it made when I cut it up with the chainsaw.
The old Ford runs well now that it’s all stitched back together. Johnny Law doesn’t seem to mind that I’m driving around with no fenders.
I built a quick and dirty flatbed out of planks, just to make the truck look semi-finished until I get around to fixing the box (if ever).
Here’s where we live in the summer and store snowshoes in winter. The bride was just in from making sasquatch tracks in the woods down behind the house. She’s feeling fit again. Has come a long way after the ordeal of the summer and autumn of mending bones.
And now she’s telling me there’s hot oatmeal in the kitchen. Time to fuel up and start hurling snow!

Nice snow shoes, actually got yo use mine with Christine in NH this winter.
I was impressed that she went out and snowshoed with the recently broken shoulder. The poles make for quite the arm workout. She’s a trouper.
No snow to speak of here in Washington state (you guys seem to have it all). Any summer trips planned? I was just reading some of your other posts.

You seem to have had twice as much snow as we had in the city…
More coming this weekend! I was out on the motorcycle yesterday for about 75 miles. It was cold (-5 at 75mph) but the highway was dry for the most part. A bit of iffy snowmelt here and there.
Great pics, Tony. But where are Pam’s pics from the trail out back? It really was quite pretty back there right after the snow. It is always pretty back there, but there is something about a fresh snow to really bring out the beauty in any place!

Am glad you’re writing, and second the gladness that your wife has healed. Man, that was some funny/familiar stuff you wrote about the cuisine when she was down, though.
Maybe she was gone somewhere, I forget. I wanted to mention there’s a truck like yours in a Reese Witherspoon movie, “The Man in the Moon”. It has a good truck role. Don’t strain yourself, and good luck with whatever you’re writing!
